About Taylor Lea
Taylor has been a part of the Southeast team since October of 2023. Taylor has worked in the mental health and substance abuse field for 7 years. She obtained her Bachelors in Psychology in 2017 and her Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2021.
Prior to Southeast, Taylor has worked in a variety of positions as a case manager in adolescent and adult group homes, client support specialist in community mental health care, therapist in drug court programs, and an intake therapist at an inpatient psychiatric hospital.
Taylor works from a person-centered approach in which she believes that each client is the expert of their own life and has the full ability and power to discover their own solutions. Taylor mainly utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to assist clients in identifying and challenging negative thought patterns to emphasize change and acceptance through teaching coping mechanisms, emotional regulation, interpersonal effectiveness, and distress tolerance skills. Taylor’s passions lie in creating a safe, accepting, and uplifting environment for all. She emphasizes client advocacy and continues to be a voice in fighting the stigma surrounding mental health care and substance abuse. In her free time, Taylor enjoys working for her non-profit, dancing, hiking, reading, cooking, and playing with her dog Koda
