About Carlie
Carlie has been with Southeast Addiction Center since August of 2022. Prior to this, Carlie worked in an inpatient, acute care psychiatric hospital with all populations (i.e., detox, women’s trauma, adolescent psych, adult psych, and geriatric psych) actively facilitating and implementing treatment. Carlie graduated from the University of North Carolina Wilmington with a B.A. in Recreation Therapy and a Minor is Psychology. She was recently declared as a published author from composing an editorial: Undervalued: Older Inmates within the Prison System: A Call for Research, within the American Journal of Recreation Therapy. In her spare time, she likes to hike on nature trails, draw/paint/doodle, and watch Food Network to improve her cooking skills. Carlie is exceptionally passionate within this profession and utilizes a strength-based approach with each client that she works with. Carlie’s favorite quote: “No Rain, No Flowers”; good can come from pain, struggle, and/or challenges.
